The contest is now CLOSED. Thank you for your interest! To be notified of future contests and events, please ‘Like’ our Facebook page and Follow us on Twitter.
The Executive Producers have decided to rename the show for the following key reasons:
It’s an inaccurate description of the show, as none of the models actually want to be Centerfolds (they’re glamour and fitness models);
In North America, there’s a negative knee-jerk reaction to the term “Centerfold”; most people who have not seen the trailers assume it’s racy and has a lot of nudity (it has none; sorry…). In Europe and Asia, no one seems to care about “Centerfold” as a name, but in North America there are some concerns where the name is concerned;
The show is about models AND photographers, and the EPs felt that “Centerfold” did not include the photographers in the title;
The word “Centerfold” shares an association with Playboy, with which we are not affiliated in any way.
So for all those reasons, the name has to change. If you help us do that, you can win an iPad 3 – here’s how:
Make sure that you’re both a fan of our Facebook Fan Page (http://www.facebook.com/CenterfoldTV) and that you follow us on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/CenterfoldTV) – don’t worry; we Tweet very little, we won’t SPAM you to death, and the content we post is either directly related to the show (and hopefully entertaining), or has to do with contests and prizes and all kinds of good stuff. Plus we’ll NEVER sell your information to ANYONE. You must be BOTH a Fan on Facebook and a Follower on Twitter to qualify.
Send out a Tweet in the following format: “@CenterfoldTV – Here’s my idea for the new name: your_name_idea_goes_here #CenterfoldRename” without the quotes, and replacing “your_name_idea_goes_here” with whatever name you’re proposing. That’s it. If we pick your name, you’ll be notified via Twitter and Facebook, and we’ll send you a brand spanking new iPad 3 with your name engraved on it. In the event that we pick a name that is submitted by more than one person, we’ll conduct a random draw to determine the winner.
Submit as many times as you like!
The contest closes at noon EST Friday March 30th, 2012. The winner will be announced no later than April 6th, 2012.
Tips & Guidance for Suggesting a Name:
Try to pick a simple name. “Models and Photographers Who Complete Photo Challenges: The Show” isn’t a good name…
Try to suggest a name that either includes both the model contestants as well as the photographer contestants, or describes the lifestyle (“Glamour Life” was a contender for a while until we axed it).
Try to suggest a name that has global appeal. “America’s Next Top Model” is a bad global name (which is why elsewhere in the world it gets rebranded by country as “_____’s Next Top Model”).
Most importantly – and we can give you no guidance here – it should be catchy!
That’s it for the contest folks. Fairly straight forward.
Good luck to you all!
Try to structure your contests to encourage an immediate response in order to maximize overall results. Eg.) for your latest contest, in the event of a tie, the winning entry should be the one submitted first plus, you could offer an extra entry for all those submitting a response within the first 24 hours. Your response rates will drop significantly after the first day if not the first several hours. Also, stats show Monday is one of the worst days to Tweet or FB due to the large volume of competing messages (try Wed morning).
Just a few suggestions that may be worth your consideration…
Good luck with the show!
Chad
Thanks Chad! Good suggestions. Unfortunately we needed to run this contest no later than this week, as we’re in Cannes next week for the show and need to be able to tell global broadcasters what the new name is – otherwise as you suggested we would have started this on a Thursday morning
Good idea as well re: the immediate responses. Next time!
Thanks for taking the time to write.
